The first ever video teaser of TVING’s highly anticipated upcoming drama “Island” has finally been released and its everything fans hoped to see.

“Island” is a fantasy action drama based on writers Yoon In Wan and Yang Kyung Il’s popular cartoon, and tells the story of the journey of characters who are destined to fight against evil which tries to destroy the world.

The original cartoon “Island” is produced by Yoon In Wan and Yang Kyung Il, the masters of the Korean cartoon world. It was remastered as a webtoon for the first time in 19 years since its publication in 1997 and later gained popularity as it was serialized on Naver Webtoon.

“Island,” which will be turned into a drama, will reinterpret the legends and tales of the beautiful Jeju Island in a modern way. On top of that, director Bae Jong, who has been recognized for his outstanding and delicate directing skills across humanism and action, such as the movies “Welcome to Dongmakgol” and “Fabricated City,” will direct the drama.

On November 8, TVING released the first ever video teaser featuring its main leads Kim Nam Gil, Lee Da Hee And Cha Eun Woo fighting evil using their own methods. Check out the action-packed trailer down below!

Kim Nam Gil  plays the role of Ban, who confronts evil that wants to end the world on the Island but is raised as a tragic person who cannot fit in with humans. Ban is a person who has the destiny to protect the world, and he agonizes over what value he should keep even while abandoning himself.

Lee Da Hee plays Won Mi Ho, a third-generation chaebol and a teacher. Won Mi Ho lives an unwanted life unconsciously as a fixed-term teacher on Jeju Island without knowing her true fate.

Cha Eun Woo will take on the role of Yo Han, a hip Catholic priest. He is an important character who has a desperate and dark past and is living with a noble calling to protect life and abolish evil.
