A new married idol couple may be born. The marriage rumors of Hyuna and Yong Junhyung, who are publicly dating, have been raised by a media outlet today.
On the 8th of July, YTN reported exclusively that Hyuna and Yong Junhyung will have their wedding ceremony on October 11th at a location in Seoul.
According to reports, an entertainment industry insider said, “They have been friends for a long time and understand the difficulties of the entertainment industry. They have built a strong bond of trust and comfort through supporting and empathizing with each other. After recently becoming lovers, they seem to have gained confidence in their love and have decided to get married.”
In response, a representative from Yong Junhyung’s agency cautiously mentioned to DongA.com that they are currently verifying the facts.
Hyuna and Yong Junhyung announced their relationship directly by sharing a photo of them holding hands on their respective SNS accounts in January. At that time, Yong Junhyung expressed his thoughts through a fan communication community, saying, “I hope we can take care of each other beautifully while receiving positive energy from one another.”
Not too long ago, Yong Junhyung re-addressed his role in the infamous chat rooms involving Jung Joon-young reiterating he’s never been part of them.
Hyuna, who left Cube Entertainment and transferred to PNATION then to AT AREA which houses many artists including her ex Dawn. She had recently released music.
Yong Junhyung debuted as a member of the group Beast in 2009 and started anew with a 5-member group called Highlight in 2017. However, he withdrew from the group in 2019 due to his name coming up a chat room involving Jung Joon-young. At that time, Yong Junhyung explained that he did not participate in the problematic chat room, but admitted to having inappropriate conversations after watching and sharing illegal videos with Jung Joon-young during a one-on-one conversation a few days later.
After the controversy, Yong Junhyung enlisted in the military. In June 2020, he underwent knee surgery and was transferred to the reserved forces, but was discharged in February of the following year. He is currently active as a solo singer.
