HYBE’s Trainee A is shutting down their entire social media accounts, but why?

Recently, HYBE’s Trainee A official SNS accounts released a statement in both English and Korean announcing their plans to shut down the social media accounts including their YouTube channel which has over 1.3 million followers, their Instagram account which has over 1.7 million followers, as well as their Twitter, Soundcloud and more.

They wrote,

Hello, this is the Trainee A Content Production Team. We would like to inform you that all Trainee A’s social media channels will end their services. Trainee A’s social media accounts, including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, and Soundcloud, will be closed as of 8 PM, December 23, 2022 (KST). We want to thank all subscribers who showed their biggest support and love for Trainee A’s social media channels.”

Trainee A is a pre-debut boy group formed in early 2021. It used to consist of 7 members but Leo departed the formation earlier this year. It currently consists of Yorch, Sangwon, Woochan, James, JJ and Jihoon.

They were originally speculated to debut in 2022 but no word from their agency has been released regarding their debut plans.

The fans found the announcement odd as the agency could have simply re-purposed the accounts to their official group name if they plan on making a debut.

Its currently unclear what type of future awaits Trainee A.
