The Final Decision Is Here: HYBE Refuses To Reinstate Min Hee Jin As ADOR’s CEO, What Now?
ADOR conveyed its position regarding the return of former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin, stating that ‘it is currently unacceptable.’
On the 25th of September, ADOR announced, ‘At today’s board meeting, ADOR resolved to convene a temporary shareholders’ meeting to reappoint Min Hee Jin as an internal director.’
They further emphasized, ‘On the morning of September 11, ADOR had already offered Min Hee Jin the responsibility of producing NewJeans for the next five years. The five years cover the entire remaining period of NewJeans’ contract.’
However, ADOR also added, ‘The board of directors discussed the demand for her return to the CEO position today and concluded that it is currently unacceptable. Since her role, duration, and authority as NewJeans’ production director have been fundamentally guaranteed, we expect further negotiations to take place on specific conditions going forward.’
Additionally, ADOR stated, ‘We have provided a detailed response via email to the NewJeans members regarding the discussions and various inquiries that took place at today’s board meeting.’
Previously, ADOR appointed Kim Joo Young as the new CEO. Following this, NewJeans requested during a YouTube live broadcast on the 11th that ‘the integration of management and production’ be restored, asking for Min Hee Jin to return to her CEO role and set a deadline for feedback from HYBE by the 25th.
Min Hee Jin also filed an ‘injunction for convening a temporary shareholders’ meeting and reappointment as an internal director of ADOR’ at the Seoul Central District Court, suggesting that legal battles between the two sides are expected to continue, despite ADOR’s statement.
