Hwasa Admits To Having Creative Disagreements With PSY For Her Recent Comeback
Singer Hwasa, known as the “Waterbomb Goddess,” opened up about a creative disagreement with her label’s CEO, singer, and producer PSY, while working on her new song.
On the September 18th episode of MBC TV’s talk show Radio Star, Hwasa candidly admits that when there’s a difference in opinions with PSY, she’s straightforward about it. She said, “If there are conflicts of opinion, I speak honestly.”
She goes on to share an anecdote related to the title track “NA” from her upcoming second mini-album O, which will be released on the 19th, revealing that PSY constantly reaches out to her for feedback, “Psy constantly contacts me for feedback.”
Hwasa also talks about her unique performances at university festivals. She explains that she enjoys the summer energy and often surprises audiences with spontaneous actions that get them hyped.
In one instance, she shared how she was having difficulty performing in high heels due to the wet stage and ended up receiving sneakers from a fan in the audience to finish the performance. She also mentioned how, after saying she had never tried festival food, the crowd handed her a grilled ox heart on stage, which she almost accidentally dropped while performing, joking that the ox heart nearly flew away.
Additionally, Hwasa humorously recalls how she was so busy at the start of her career that she didn’t even know about her older sister’s wedding until the day it happened. Her usually kind sister was not pleased, providing a funny moment.
Lastly, Hwasa updates viewers on her strong ongoing friendships with Kim Wan Sun, Uhm Jung Hwa, Lee Hyori, and BoA, whom she performed with as part of the project group Refund Sisters. She reveals that she recently met with Uhm Jung Hwa and BoA, and after they got a little tipsy, they started shouting “Club!”
Meanwhile, Hwasa’s upcoming album is scheduled for September 19 release.
