Hwarang, who had halted activities due to a private life issue, is leaving both the group Tempest and his agency.

On the 11th of August, Yuehua Entertainment announced through Tempest’s official fan cafe the sad news. They wrote, “We have had in-depth discussions with Hwarang regarding his future activities and career path. After careful consideration, it has been mutually agreed that he will conclude his activities as a member of Tempest and terminate his exclusive contract with the company.”

The agency also stated, “We will respond strongly to the spread of false information and unfounded speculation regarding our artist. We ask for your continued interest and support for Tempest, who will be greeting you through ‘Road to Kingdom.'”

Last February, Hwarang faced criticism after acknowledging during a video call event with fans that he had visited a club. The agency issued an apology for the club visit, stating that Hwarang was “deeply reflecting” and promised to take special precautions to ensure such behavior would not happen again.

However, about two weeks later, the agency announced, “We have had deep discussions regarding future activities in light of the private life-related issue. During this process, member Hwarang failed to regain trust,” and added, “In this situation, we concluded that it would be difficult to continue group activities in their entirety,” officially confirming Hwarang’s suspension from activities.

Five months after suspending his activities, Hwarang has completely cut ties, leaving the group and terminating his exclusive contract.
