Former B.A.P member himchan is in the news again after the shocking revelations of his recent trial!
Himchan, who was sent to trial on charges of sexual harassment, has admitted to all charges. However, it has been revealed that Himchan has also been under police investigation for another sexual assault case, which is expected to cause him further repercussions.
On April 3rd, Judge Kim Yoo-mi of the Seoul Western District Court’s Criminal Division 6 held the trial for Himchan, who was indicted on charges of forcible indecency.
Himchan was charged with sexually harassing two women on the exterior stairs of a bar in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, on April 17th last year. At the trial, Himchan’s defense lawyer admitted to the charges, stating that they “will seek to reach an agreement with the victim and urge the continuation of this trial.”
Previously, it was reported that Himchan denied the charges by claiming that “it was simply unavoidable physical contact on a narrow and steep staircase.” However, he eventually admitted to the charges and expressed his intention to reach an agreement with the victims.
During the trial, it was also revealed that another sexual crime investigation involving Himchan is ongoing.
Himchan’s defense team submitted a motion for consolidation for the case, which is expected to be sent to the prosecution within this week before the trial. However, the court did not accept the defense’s request to hold the trial in private, stating that “in cases of sexual violence, there may be situations where the victim wishes for a private trial, but today’s trial is not such a case.”
Himchan’s next trial is scheduled to take place on May 17th.
