Somebody is trying hard to create drama surrounding (G)I-DLE’s Miyeon and fans are not having it!

If you’re BLACKPINK fan or a (G)I-DLE fan then you probably know that Miyeon was a trainee at YG for 5 years. She was rumored to have been one of the possible BLACKPINK members, although that was never confirmed.

However, on the internet many people seem to believe that Miyeon left because of her ‘dating scandal’ with Jeong Jin Hyung, a former YG trainee as well. The two were rumored to have been dating in 2015 when photos of their trip to Japan were posted.

The post on Nate that has attracted more than 180,000 views goes on to claim that the YG infamous ban list on their idols was created because of Miyeon’s scandal. They claim she was kicked out because photos of their dates in Japan spread through social media and due to the backlash YG changed their laws.

The post also claims that the ‘incident’ happened when Miyeon was 14 years old at the time while Jeong Jin Hyung was 18 at the time. They claim after she left YG, she joined Cube Entertainment and debuted with (G)I-DLE.

The post also goes on to bring up Jisoo and Rose’s past appearance on “Radio Star,” the girls stated they were banned from “driving, smoking, clubbing, drinking, plastic surgery, and dating,” and were even banned from interacting with male trainees, their meals times were different so they don’t overlap.

The community post implies these ‘new policies’ were implemented by YG because of Miyeon’s scandal.

The post that went viral is filled with false information, so let’s debunk it and share the truth to shut down the hate and misinformation once and for all.

First things first, Miyeon and Jeong Jin Hyung were born in 1997 making them the same age, at the time the photos went viral, in 2015, they were both 17 years old when the photos were taken.

The time frame in which Miyeon left is unknown but fans of her already know that she had stated that she left YG because her debut kept getting delayed. She left some time in 2015; the photos of the dates are believed to have been taken after she left. At the time the photos were taken, Miyeon wasn’t a trainee at any company but only a student at a vocal academy.

Second, YG bans were already in place for a while, they didn’t happen because of Miyeon. 2NE1 members also talked about the infamous YG dating ban, so to claim that one trainee added all those rules is outrageous to say the least.

  1. the only thing you’ve proven is that the dating ban wasn’t implemented because of Miyeon. you have in no way proven that she wasn’t kicked out bc she was caught dating. I think it’s pretty obvious that was exactly why she was kicked out. she claims it was because their debut kept getting pushed back. BS. Blackpink debuted in august 2016. g-idle debuted in 2018. by supposedly “leaving” uh, she delayed her own debut by an additional 2 years so her excuse makes literally no sense whatsoever.

    1. Actually it does make sense, given the fact that the only things that people are going off of to claim that Miyeon was kicked out of YG are photos and comments made by the members referring to things they weren’t allowed to do that netizens strung together. Also, her training at CUBE for an additional two years isn’t her “delaying” her debut, if you take into account that there were other trainees coming and going, which Soyeon said herself. She also said that Miyeon becoming part of the line-up was important because of their uncertainty of debuting due to trainees leaving.
