Former Idol Trainee Han Seo Hee Gets Sentenced To Prison For Taking Drugs
Han Seo Hee, a former idol trainee, has been sentenced to prison.
According to the legal community on March 21st, the second division of the Supreme Court finally dismissed Ms. Han’s appeal related to the alleged violation of the Narcotics Control Act.
Ms. Han is suspected of taking drugs such as methamphetamine, commonly referred to as meth, in Jungnang-gu, Seoul in July of last year. Han’s side denied the charge, but all 48 syringes confiscated at the scene tested positive for meth, and the accused’s blood was found in 10 syringes.
Accordingly, in the first trial last year, Han Seo Hee was sentenced to six months in prison, ordered to complete her drug rehabilitation program for 40 hours, and an additional fine of 100,000 won. Han appealed, denying her charges, but her appeal was also dismissed.
Previously, Han was indicted for smoking marijuana in September 2017, and she was sentenced to 3 years in prison and 4 years probation. In early June 2020, during the probationary period, she was indicted again for administering methamphetamine at a Buddhist statue in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, and was handed over to trial and sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison.
