(G)I-DLE’s Soyeon Goes Viral With Witty Line About Contract Renewals During Concert, Cube Assures Everything Is Ok
Soyeon of (G)I-DLE caused quite a stir at their recent concert by including the line “November contract ends” in her solo performance, raising questions about her future with the group.
(G)I-DLE kicked off their third world tour, ‘2024 (G)I-DLE WORLD TOUR [iDOL] IN SEOUL,’ with performances on the 3rd and 4th of August at the KSPO Dome in Seoul. During the concert, Soyeon performed the song “Is this bad b****** number?” in a leopard-print bodysuit, delivering a powerful and provocative performance.
The line “November contract ends. Who can stop me?” from her performance has led to speculation that Soyeon may not be planning to renew her contract with Cube Entertainment. With (G)I-DLE approaching their 7th anniversary, fans and media alike are curious about the future of the group if their leader and primary producer, Soyeon, does not renew her contract.
Following the performance, Cube Entertainment received numerous inquiries from the press. The agency responded by clarifying that all members are set to renegotiate their contracts next year and that Soyeon’s lyrics were simply part of the performance.
Fans are particularly concerned about the group’s future activities as a complete unit if Soyeon decides not to renew her contract. Given her significant role in creating (G)I-DLE’s hit songs and leading the group, her departure could significantly impact their dynamics.
With the world tour just beginning, the focus now shifts to what (G)I-DLE’s next steps will be post-tour and how the contract negotiations will unfold.
