Former YG Entertainment executive producer (CEO) Yang Hyun Suk denied the allegations of threatening former trainee A.

On November 1, the 23rd Criminal Agreement Division of the Seoul Central District Court held the 12th trial of former CEO Yang Hyun Suk, who was indicted on charges of threatening retaliation under the Specific Crime Aggravated Punishment Act.

Former CEO Yang Hyun Suk is accused of conciliating and threatening singer trainee A, who was arrested by the police in August 2016, when they testified to former iKON member B.I‘s drug purchase charges.

The prosecution submitted data that were investigated by the police and prosecutors, including B.I, B.I’s father, and former CEO Yang Hyun Suk and trainee A. YG’s side provided evidence refuting A’s testimony in court.

Former CEO Yang Hyun Suk, who attended the questioning of the defendant, refuted that the claims of threatening A were not true. He said that what A claimed was not true, saying that he had been talking carefully while living as a celebrity for 30 years and that B.I tested negative for internal drugs and he had great faith in B.I. He added that A’s attitude at the time of cross-examination was very disrespectful, adding that he wanted to record it in the report.

Regarding A’s lawyer appointment, former CEO Yang Hyun Suk said, “I don’t know why A needs a lawyer to be investigated by the police. A has been well investigated by the police without a lawyer until now,” drawing a line that he was not suspected of forcing A to reverse their statement to cover up B.I’s drug allegations.
