Former Kpop Group Member Receives Sentencing For Forcibly Molesting Fellow Group Member

The trending story that shocked kpop fans recently has come to a conclusion!

On the 30^th of May, a former member of a 6-member male idol group was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months of imprisonment with a 3-year probation period for the charge of forcibly molesting a fellow group member.

The 29th Criminal Agreement Division of the Seoul Central District Court (Presiding Judge Kim Seung-jeong) sentenced individual A, who was charged with forcible molestation and attempted rape, to 2 years and 6 months of imprisonment with a 3-year probation period and ordered him to complete 80 hours of sexual violence treatment program.

A is accused of touching the body of victim B, a fellow group member, on at least three occasions from 2017 to 2021, in places such as dormitories and practice rooms.

During the trial, A admitted to the charge of forcible molestation but denied the charge of attempted rape. The court considered the victim’s detailed and consistent statements and found A guilty of all charges.

B reported the incident to the Seoul Gangnam Police Station in 2021, and the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office transferred the case to trial in January on charges of forcible molestation and attempted rape against A. It was reported that A withdrew from the group and ceased activities due to personal reasons following the incident.
