The group Fifty Fifty has declared its intention to boycott SBS’s Inkigayo.

On September 28, according to Munhwa Ilbo, Jeon Hong Joon, CEO of Fifty Fifty’s agency, Attrakt, stated that “The show ‘Unanswered Questions’ made a huge mistake towards both Attrakt and myself. Even though people suggested appearing on music programs for promotion, I don’t mind skipping it. Sometimes, honor and pride are far more important than money.” He added, There has been no apology. Some producers indirectly contacted me offering to arrange a meeting, but I told them to issue a formal public apology first.”

This stems from the controversy last year when Fifty Fifty’s members filed for an injunction to suspend their exclusive contracts with Attrakt, halting their activities. The dispute further escalated when Unanswered Questions aired a segment called “Billboard and Girl Groups – Who Clipped Their Wings?” which drew significant criticism for allegedly portraying Attrakt in a biased light. This resulted in a wave of complaints to the Korea Communications Standards Commission, leading to a formal warning against the show in March.

In response, Attrakt filed a lawsuit against the producers for defamation in April.

Despite the ongoing legal battle, Fifty Fifty recently restructured and released their second mini-album Love Tune on September 20. While they continue promoting on other music shows like M Countdown and Music Bank, they have stated they will not appear on any SBS music programs until a formal apology is made.
