The results for Billboard 200 album chart for the week ending in November 3rd, 2018 are in and the results for EXO’s Lay new album are magnificent.
Lay has recently released his third solo album titled “NAMANANA” which included English tracks and marked his official American solo debut.
The album features 22 tracks in total, 11 Chinese songs and 11 English-equivalents; it was revealed that he participated in all the aspects of the making of his solo album.
The solo album has debuted at number 21 on Billboard 200, which marks Lay’s first official Billboard 200 debut, but the happy news doesn’t end there, the album is also number 1 on Billboards’ World Albums Chart, he is now the first EXO member to top the World Albums Chart.
He is now also officially the highest charting Kpop solo artist on the Billboard 200 chart, alongside him BTS’s RM debuted at number 26, RM holds the record for the Korean soloist with the highest Billboard 200 ranking while Lay now officially holds the record for the highest-charting Kpop soloist (overall) on the Billboard 200 chart.
“NAMANANA” ranking on Billboard 200 is also the highest ever for a Chinese artist.
The album also ranked No.1 on the Independent Albums chart, No. 4 on the Top Album Sales chart, No. 7 on the Social 50 chart, and ranked highly on several other Billboard charts.
EXO Lay will be joining his group that is making a comeback on November 2nd with “Don’t Mess Up My Tempo.”
