ENHYPEN Sasaengs Obtain Members’ Flight Information And Assign Seats At Wish Causing Significant Difficulties For The Members
The group ENHYPEN suffered damage due to sasaengs and what they had recently done is making headlines!
The group’s flight information was exposed to sasaengs, causing significant difficulties during their return to Korea.
According to an investigation by Xports News on the 5th of September, ENHYPEN learned on the 4th that sasaengs had illegally obtained their flight information while they were returning from China. These sasaengs had illegally signed up with the airline and arbitrarily selected seats. Moreover, it was revealed that they deliberately blocked seat changes to ensure that they could seat members in the seats they wanted.
This behavior seems to be an attempt by some overly obsessive sasaengs to sit close to the artists during the flight or to take unauthorized photos.
In the process of returning to Korea after their schedule in China, ENHYPEN tried to change to a different flight, but while attempting to designate seats for their return, they found that some members were unable to select seats.
After checking with the airline (Air China), ENHYPEN found out that someone had already signed up using some of the members’ personal information. Additionally, it was confirmed that a Chinese number had been registered as a contact, and seat changes had been deliberately blocked. As a result, ENHYPEN had to personally confirm their identity at the airport to change seats. The leaking of their flight information directly resulted in harm to the artists.
HYBE had previously stated that they would take strong legal action if flight information was obtained and used illegally. HYBE submitted evidence to the police after identifying multiple social media accounts trading artists’ flight information online.
Despite this, the issue persists, with sasaengs obtaining illegal flight information and causing harm, such as changing the in-flight meals of TXT.
In ENHYPEN’s case, it shows the severe damage caused by the illegal trading of flight information and the unauthorized use of personal information, highlighting the significant privacy breaches K-pop artists face.
Later, ENHYPEN’s agency, Belift Lab, stated, “We are taking strong measures regarding the illegal acquisition and sale of flight information. We will do our best to protect the artist.”
