BTS’s V And Jungkook File A Lawsuit Against Sojang Amounting Over 90 Million Won
BTS members V and Jungkook are taking legal action against the operator of the YouTube channel Sojang.
On the 16th of August, a representative from their agency, Big Hit Music, told Maeil Business Star Today, “V and Jungkook have filed a lawsuit for damages against the operator of Sojang.”
It has been reported that in March, V and Jungkook, along with Big Hit Music, filed a claim for damages of approximately 90 million KRW (around $71,300) against the channel’s operator. The first hearing is scheduled to take place on the 23rd of August at the Seoul Western District Court.
In June, Big Hit Music directly mentioned Sojang.
At that time, Big Hit Music stated, “We filed a complaint against Sojang in 2022 for defamation and interference with business. Although the investigation was initially suspended, we actively requested the investigation to resume by providing the authorities with the operator’s information, leading to the investigation being reopened. Earlier this year, we additionally filed a civil lawsuit for damages related to defamation and other illegal acts, and the civil trial is about to commence.”
Meanwhile, all BTS members, except for Jin, who was discharged from the military in June, are currently serving in the military.
