Suga, a member of BTS, has made an impressive debut on the U.S. charts with his first official solo album, “D-DAY,” released under the name Agust D.

The album entered Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart at No. 2, tying the record for the highest-ranking Korean solo album in Billboard 200 history set by his bandmate Jimin. According to Luminate, “D-DAY” earned 140,000 equivalent album units in the week ending on April 27, with 122,000 traditional album sales, making it the top-selling album of the week and the fourth-largest U.S. sales week of any album in 2023. “

D-DAY” also topped four different Billboard charts, including the Top Rap Albums chart, and Suga extended his own record for the most entries on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart of any K-pop soloist with 25 tracks from “D-DAY” in the top 30.

Suga’s title track “Haegeum” debuted at No. 58 on Billboard’s Hot 100, marking his fourth overall chart entry as a solo artist and his first for a song released solely under his name.

Additionally, he became the first K-pop artist to reach No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Rap Albums chart, and his album and songs dominated various other Billboard charts. Suga re-entered Billboard’s Artist 100 at No. 3 under the name Agust D, making him the second highest-charting K-pop soloist in history, after his bandmate Jimin who reached No. 1 last month.
