BTS’ Suga is under police investigation after falling while riding an electric kickboard while intoxicated.

On the 7th of August, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul announced that they were investigating Suga on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving). According to the police, Suga was found the day before in the Yongsan-gu area after falling alone while riding an electric kickboard while intoxicated.

When a nearby police officer went to help Suga, he smelled of alcohol and was transferred to a nearby police station.

In response to the news, HYBE issued a statement confirming the previous reports, they wrote this statement:

Hello, This is Big Hit Music.
We apologize for the incident involving BTS member Suga and his electric scooter accident.
On the night of the 6th (Tuesday), Suga was returning home in an intoxicated state while wearing a helmet and using an electric scooter. After traveling approximately 500 meters, he fell while parking the scooter. Police officers in the vicinity conducted a breathalyzer test, which resulted in a fine and the cancellation of his license. Thankfully, no personal or property damage occurred, and he returned home under police supervision.
We sincerely apologize for the disappointment caused by the artist’s inappropriate behavior. We acknowledge the social disturbance caused by his actions as a public service worker and will accept any consequences from his workplace.
We will take greater care to prevent such incidents in the future.
Thank you

Suga entered the Nonsan Training Center in South Chungcheong Province in March to receive basic military training and is currently working as a social service worker. Suga’s discharge date is June 2025.
