On November 20 KST, The 2020 Grammy nominations were revealed and to the shock of many, Kpop wasn’t present. BTS and BLACKPINK had both submitted for consideration by the Grammys. BLACKPINK were predicted to be nominated for ‘Best New Artist,’ while BTS were up for many nominations and were eligible to be nominated in those categories: Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year.

BTS has arguably had its most successful year ever in 2019, and due to the massive success of their comeback earlier this year, ARMY had predicted that the boys would at least score one nomination at the prestigious award show.

BTS even became the first-ever Korean artists to present at the Grammy Awards, they were the talk of the town during the award show. All of these reasons added to the confusion of ARMY when they found out that BTS were excluded from the nominees’ list.
