The military camp, where the group BTS Jin joined has asked fans to refrain from writing online letters.

The 5th Division’s boot camp, where Jin joined, posted an announcement titled “A Request to the fans” on December 13 and requested, “Please refrain from sending personal (Internet letter) consolation letters.”

The New National University of Education explaining the reason behind this request, said,

Our unit has been selected as a demonstration unit for trainees for cell phone use and can be used by individuals for 30 minutes every day.

Trainees can also check personal consolation letters on their personal cell phones. However, since the service is Internet-based if many letters are sent at once, the server will go down, and other trainees will not be able to check their letters.

How sad would it be if the trainees could not see the letters sent by their parents, lovers, or friends? Also, please never send handwritten letters or deliver gifts. In addition, Jin said that he can use Weverse platform where he can communicate with ARMY on his personal cell phone.

However, direct communication (writing) between Jin and his fans will be controlled. Please understand that it is a special situation called the military.”

Jin joined the 5th Division’s boot camp in Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do after receiving the send-off of the members. After five weeks of basic military training here, he will be deployed as an active-duty soldier in the Army.

The scheduled date of discharge is June 12, 2024.
