BTS’s first ever film “Burn The Stage: The Movie” is breaking many records left and right.

A report by Forbes revealed that the movie is now the highest-grossing event cinema musical production of all time. It had earned $1.2 million at the U.S. box office (just on the first day) and proceeded to earn an additional $2.3 million over the three day weekend.

In four days, the movie earned $3.54 million in the US alone and by that BTS broke One Direction’s 2014 movie record that had held the record for highest-grossing concert film.

It has also grossed a total of $9.3 million outside of the US in just four days. Previously, the film’s distributor, Trafalgar, revealed that the movie sold approx. 1 million tickets in pre-sale ahead of the movie premiere.

This is considered exceptionally remarkable since the movie has footage that already aired through BTS’s original YouTube Red series “Burn the Stage,” which was released earlier this year on YouTube.

The movie does feature re-edited footage from the original documentary and new footage as well. It follows BTS during their successful 2017 “Wings” world tour.

Congrats to BTS!
