The conflict between Chuu, an ex-member of LOONA, and her agency, Blockberry Creative, is showing signs of prolonging.

Star News reported on February 1st that in December 2022, Blockberry submitted a petition to the Korea Entertainment Management Association and the Korea Entertainment Producers Association side by side, containing the ban on Chuu’s entertainment activities.

In particular, it is reported that Blockberry officially raised the issue of Chuu’s tampering through the submission of a complaint through the Compensation and Punishment Committee of the Korea Federation of Trade Associations. Blockberry judged that Chuu had already tampered with BPOM in order to sign a new contract around 2021, and filed a complaint with the Compensation and Punishment Committee of the Federation of Entrepreneurs’ Association, claiming that it was a ‘violation of the management contract.’

Afterward, the Compensation and Punishment Committee of the Korea Federation of Trade Associations requested Chuu to appear on related issues, but she did not attend until last week, and in the end, the Compensation and Punishment Committee was scheduled to make a ruling, but on January 1st, Chuu replied, “I will appear before the Compensation and Punishment Committee” belatedly, so the date has been postponed.

Along with this, its been reported Blockberry plans to submit a petition to the Federation of Entrepreneurs’ Association to ban entertainment activities for four people, including Heejin, Kim Lip, Jinsol, and Choerry.

Later in a statement to the press, Blockberry confirmed the news, they told news outlets,

We submitted a declaration containing the contents of Chuu’s ban on entertainment activities to the Korean Entertainment Management Association and the Korean Entertainment Producers Association in December.
A declaration containing the ban on entertainment activities for Heejin, Kim Lip, JinSoul, and Choerry, will also be submitted to the Korean Entertainment Management Association

Previously, in March 2022, Chuu received a partial ruling in the lawsuit against Blockberry for an injunction to suspend the validity of the exclusive contract. In addition, a lawsuit against Blockberry regarding the termination of the exclusive contract is also underway. Since then, four other members, including Heejin, Kim Lip, Jinsol, and Choerry, also won the lawsuit for a temporary injunction to suspend the exclusive contract in January, but the other members, Haseul, Yeojin, Yves, Olivia Hye, and Gowon, lost the trial. Also, members, Vivi and Hyunjin did not file a lawsuit.

Despite stating to news outlets they’d respond soon to the reports of various other members filing lawsuits, the agency has remained silent.

In November 2022, Blockberry announced its decision to remove Chuu from LOONA through an official fan cafe notice. Afterward, Blockberry also postponed LOONA’s comeback in January indefinitely, announcing, “We have judged that comeback activities are meaningless in a state where various concerns about the members’ situation have not been resolved.”
