BLACKPINK And BTS Earn Big Nominations For The 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards
K-pop star groups BLACKPINK, BTS and BTS member Jungkook have been nominated for many categories at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards in the U.S.
According to this year’s list of nominees for awards announced by the iHeartRadio Music Awards on January 11, BLACKPINK was nominated for a total of four categories, including the “Best Duo/Group of the Year.”
They are also nominated for “Favorite Use of a Sample,” “Best Music Video,” and “Best Fan Army,” which will determine the winners by voting on social media. The previous two categories were nominated for the pre-released song “Pink Venom” from their second full-length album “Born Pink.” Their fandom BLINK is nominated for “Best Fan Army.”
In particular, they will compete with prominent candidates such as American band AJR, American hip-hop group Black Eyed Peas, duo Silk Sonic and American band Imagine Dragons for the “Best Duo and Group of the Year” award.
Earlier in 2021, BLACKPINK was nominated for “Best Music Video” for “How You Like That” and was nominated for “Best Fan Army” with their fandom BLINK.
BTS has been nominated for the “Best Music Video” category for their title song “Yet To Come” of the anthology album “Proof” released in June last year. Along with their fandom ARMY, “Best Fan Army” was also nominated making them nominated for a total of two categories. BLACKPINK is also a candidate for these categories.
In particular, BTS, who first won the iHeartRadio Music Awards in 2018, has been nominated for the award for six consecutive years so far this year.
In addition, BTS member Jungkook was also nominated for the award for his collaboration song “Left and Right” with American singer-songwriter and producer Charlie Puth in the “Best Music Video” category.
Meanwhile, the iHeartRadio Music Awards is a music awards ceremony that has been hosted by the U.S. online radio station iHeartRadio since 2014. This year, it will be held in Los Angeles (LA) on March 27. The social vote will be held from this day until March 20.
