BLACKPINK Achieve And Break Multiple Records With “BORN PINK” Worldwide

BLACKPINK has achieved many amazing records upon the release of their newest comeback “BORN PINK”!

On September 16 at 1 p.m. KST, the girl group dropped their second studio album “BORN PINK” with the title track “Shut Down.” “Shut Down” ended up debuting at #1 on the global Spotify chart with 6.6 million streams. It marks their second #1 hit.

BLACKPINK has gone on to break multiple records. They became the first Korean act and first girl group to earn multiple #1 hits on the global Spotify chart, and has earned their biggest streaming day of all-time on Spotify on September 16, with 42 million listens following the release of their album.

All songs from their album have simultaneously charted in the top 100 on US iTunes. “BORN PINK” had also reached No.1 on iTunes charts.

Added to that, “BORN PINK” earned the biggest first day sales for an album by a female act in Hanteo history, with over 1 million copies sold. They’re only the 3rd Kpop group to achieve this besides BTS and SEVENTEEN.
