Read the full statement from JYP Entertainment below:

“The exclusive contract between JYP and Bernard Park will expire at the end of this day. We have been having in-depth conversations and discussions with Bernard Park for a long time ahead of the expiration of the contract, and we decided not to proceed with the contract renewal under the agreement of both sides. Since his debut on October 13, 2014, Bernard Park has always shown good performance as a solo artist representing JYP. We deeply thank Bernard Park for accompanying us for a long nine years with strong trust in each other, and JYP will continue to support Bernard Park. We ask for your unwavering support for Bernard Park who is now at a new starting point.”

Meanwhile, Bernard Park appeared on SBS’ “K-Pop Star Season 3” in 2014 and made himself known by winning the final title. Having signed an exclusive contract with JYP, he made his official debut in 2014 with the title “I’m…” and then released songs such as “Blame” (Feat Changmo) and “Still” (Feat. LUNA) and continued his popularity. After that, he completed his military service in July 2020 with active duty in the Army.

Bernard Park changed his name to Nakjoon, a Korean name, in 2017, but rechanged to Bernard Park in October 2020 and has been active since.

On September 6, he released his second mini-album “To whom it may concern.”
