ARMY Furious With People’s Choice Awards After BTS Loses In All Nominated Categories, What Went Wrong?

Published Categorized as Kpop

It seems that The 2019 E! People’s Choice Awards has managed to infuriate the biggest fandom and its not looking good!

On November 10, The 2019 E! People’s Choice Awards were held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. BTS were nominated in three categories: The Group of 2019, The Music Video of 2019 and The Concert Tour of 2019.

They went up against many other notable Kpop and international acts, however, to the surprise of many, BTS lost in all of those categories. BLACKPINK ended up taking home all three awards while CL won The Most Inspiring Asian Woman of 2019.

The People’s Choice Awards is about people’s choice and naturally, there was a voting process that took place ahead of the ceremony. According to various voting accounts, BTS were leading by a huge margin which isn’t difficult to comprehend considering ARMY are the biggest fandom in Kpop at the moment, they’re also known for being extremely supportive voting for BTS in which ever award they’re nominated for, domestic or foreign.

This is why it didn’t sit well with ARMY after they saw the winner’s list. As a result, they made sure the let the award organizers know how they feel. They trended #ThePeopleChooseBTS and #ARMYsChoiceBTS worldwide, they’re currently sitting at number 1 and 2 respectively.

ARMY are protesting BTS losing in those three categories calling The People’s Choice Awards clout chasers for using BTS and their fandom to hype up their award ceremony.

Here are some of their reactions:

What do you think of this? Do you think the winner was justified?

  1. sorry bp..this is not the way the be no 1
i luv thus girl but the company really ruin them slowly and as a blink this is so embarrassing if this girl proud with this award..can we just go slowly and steadily n not stealing other people opportunity..

  2. Actually not even just the stats but the gap for voting on twitter was 20 million plus. They want us to believe, that was fair? And yes, we voted on website everyday as well. Regardless of who it was, the clear winner was BTS but we did not realize it was a pay for choice award. I assumed the name of the award show was self explanatory.

  3. I feel sorry for blackpink. They have to know what the votes really were. It seems like they get the number 1 spot through manipulation and that’s not fair to them either. BlackPink is represented by Universal in the US, so it appears they used a loophole to have their own artists win.

ARMYs need to focus on legit awards now until the end of the year. There are many awards that are more prestigious coming our way in the next few months.

  4. I can definitely see how bp won best mv and i think best group was a bit of a toss up but bts should have won best concert tour like…. cmon. ur getting ridiculous now that tour was actually legendary

  5. This is honestly so stressful knowing they basically used the boys for clout, Honestly we stan Army who take no crap from anyone willing to say something harmful to the boys
