On October 22, Gangnam Police Station revealed in an official statement that they had requested an arrest warrant for Goo Hara’s ex-boyfriend Choi Jung Bum, they said,
“We requested an arrest warrant for Choi Jong Bum to the prosecutor’s office on October 19, for blackmail and injury charges and the prosecutor’s office has requested court for the warrant today.”
He is being charged for threatening Goo Hara with the release of the sex tape. Their case had originally started as an assault case but when Goo Hara spoke out about her side of the story and revealed all the details it developed to an assault blackmail case.
It was revealed earlier that the police had confiscated the ex-boyfriend phone and USB back on October 2nd, luckily, the police revealed that there were no signs of the video being spread.
Despite all of that, police decided that the fight between Goo Hara and Choi Jong Bum was not an assault but something even more serious. The acts of sending her the video and forcing her to kneel were seen as blackmail adding up to the reasons why the police have requested a warrant for his arrest.
The date of the investigation that will help determine the validity of the arrest warrant has not been revealed yet but its rumored that it will happen as soon as possible.
Before the arrest is officially granted the validity must be confirmed.
