Read YG’s statement below!

Hello, this is YG Entertainment.
We’d like to inform you that we have reached an agreement to terminate the exclusive contract with the members of iKON (Kim Jin-hwan, BOBBY, Song Yun-hyeong, Goo Jun-hoe, Kim Dong-hyuk, Jung Chan-woo) due to the expiration of the contract period after long discussions about future activities and respecting each other’s opinions.
We sincerely thank iKON for being with us as affiliated artists. We look forward to and support their various activities in the future.
We also thank IKONIC for being with iKON’s journey. We ask for unchanged attention and encouragement for the members who are about to start a new journey.”

YG also revealed in their statement that the six members will continue their activities as iKON in the future and will continue to communicate with fans via their official fan community channel Weverse as they had always been doing.

iKON is not disbanding as a result and has managed to survive the 7 years curse.
