Kang Dong Won And BLACKPINK’s Rosé have been caught up in dating rumors created by some Chinese community sites. The agency, YG Entertainment, has responded to the rumors.
The dating rumor comes from a photo of a gathering of fashion industry professionals that was recently revealed by a Chinese media outlet. The photo captured Rosé and Kang Dong Won sitting together, and some claimed that they had been seen wearing matching outfits and this meant they were dating. The photo, taken by former Burberry creative director Riccardo Tisci, shows the two smiling and looking at the camera from a top-down angle. It has received a strong response from fans in Korea.
After the initial rumors began, some other netizens began to speculate Kang Dong Won and Rosé were dating by claiming they wore many matching couple items including necklaces, jackets and more. Some netizens also alleged Rosé became close friends with many of Kang Dong Won’s friends in the year 2022 and 2023. Rosé had previously named Kang Dong Won as her ideal type a long time ago, this made many fans shocked by the rumors, and many expected them to either die down soon or be shut down by YG, however, YG’s response was surprising.
YG cautiously stated that it is the artists’ private lives and they cannot confirm, “It’s difficult to confirm facts related to our artist’s personal life.”
Rosé debuted as a member of BLACKPINK in August 2016 and is currently on a world tour. Kang Dong Won signed an exclusive contract with YG Entertainment in January 2016 and parted ways with the company in December 2022 when his contract expired.
