ABC’s “Good Morning America” Makes An Embarrassing Mistake With BLACKPINK’s Performance Video
Look what we have here today!
This week has been a busy important week for BLACKPINK and their fans, they performed at the Grammys showcase debut, they performed on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” and also performed at ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
Their performance on the morning show is their first ever live performance in America, so it was even more special to them.
The clip of BLACKPINK’s performance of their hit track “Ddu-du Ddu-du” was uploaded to ABC’s social media accounts but there was one mistake that had two effects on BLINKs, they were either upset and criticized ABC or they found it hilarious.
The mistake is simple, in the closed caption of the video the girls lyrics aren’t translated from Korean to English, however, the English parts are there. The issue is, the closed caption reads “[SINGING IN JAPANESE].”
This caption was repeated multiple times throughout the video and some fans found it very odd.
The description of the YouTube video uploaded clearly states “K-pop sensation BlackPink made their U.S. morning TV debut on “Good Morning America.”
Some BLINKs were quick to criticize ABC, here are some of their reactions:
abc news really has the captions for blackpink’s gma performance set to “singing in japanese” 😭 please it’s throughout the whole video too i- pic.twitter.com/qkK3vCKSWI

I’m not generally into K-Pop, but I kinda dig BlackPink.
Also on a completely related side note:
ABC, please get your shit together with your closed captioning, because I promise you, they are not singing in Japanese…. https://t.co/zh253vZYGq— Naveen Alexandra (@NaveenAlexandra) February 13, 2019
