ENA’s newest Monday-Tuesday drama is here! Let us talk the newest edition “Crash”!

Note: this article is a first-impression review, it doesn’t mean this is the writer’s final thoughts on the drama. This is a spoiler review.

“Crash” includes a star-studded cast including Lee Min Ki, Heo Sung Tae and Kwak Sun-Young. They’re supported by amazing supporting actors too.

So, this drama has a new setting, in the sense that it focuses on fraud/crimes related to cars specifically. There is so much to explore with these kinds of incidents and accidents since cars can quite literally cause severe damage.

Additionally, I was pleasantly surprised to learn the premiere episodes were based on a true story. I thought it was very well-thought-out and it turns out, a man actually killed elderly people and claimed their insurance doing this. Diabolical.

The fact that this really happened is….

I didn’t expect to enjoy the premiere so much, but I did. I see a lot of great potential in this drama, and it could possibly become among my favorite releases of 2024 which has been a relatively quiet year for Kdramas- so far.

Its nice to see Heo Sung Tae who usually play bad guys playing a timid character in this one, there is another actor in his squad who also regularly plays bad guys and he’s playing a good guy in this drama too, his name is Lee Ho-Cheol.

I liked how kickas* Kwak Sun-Young’s character was. She truly embodied the charismatic fighter female lead without it appearing as if its an act. I could believe her tough persona, and she did a great job so far.

The one character I am kinda surprised with is Lee Min Ki’s, who is playing yet again an awkward character. He knows his stuff and does very well at it, but I didn’t expect this character to be like this, mainly because I didn’t see the trailers so I didn’t know. I’ve seen him play this character a few times before but its been so long since he’s done something similar so this should be interesting.

His character is also weird in the sense that he cannot assess doom that’s about to come down on him easily even when he places himself in severe danger. I don’t know if it means he’s fearless or simply severely lacking in social skills. Because unless he suffers from a condition, I’d assume even if he’s lacking in social skills, his brain would tell him when he’s in severe danger. This should be interesting to watch.

If the drama plans on following real life cases, I think it’ll become even more interesting to watch. I am excited about next week’s episodes as it seems we have now even more dramas to fill the Monday-Tuesday spot.

So have you guys seen Crash yet? thoughts?
