After what seemed like an eternity, Apple TV finally blessed us with the highly anticipated sequel to their hit and critically acclaimed series “Pachinko,” lets talk about it!

Note: this article is a first-impression review, it doesn’t mean this is the writer’s final thoughts on the drama. This is a spoiler review.

This was a project I was personally looking forward to in 2024, it took a while but its finally here, and its as glorious as I’d expected.

I can relate to the struggles of different characters in different timelines, the way the war, 80s and 90s boom and much more are portrayed is nothing short of epic. Its truly a marvelous creation.

So, I recall the creators said they wanted to make 3 seasons exploring the full story which the book is based on, and while I do not like the fact that it takes such a long time to produce each season, I can still appreciate the craftsmanship and the effort that goes into it.

Episode 1 teases the beginning of even more scary stuff that will happen in both timelines, as per history, it will be surely something to look forward to and possibly fear.

But to me one episode is too little, maybe its because I am used to the Korean way of broadcasting schedules, but I find one episode has hardly enough material to truly immerse me in the experience. Thus, I have decided to give it about 40 days before resuming again because I cannot bare to wait a week for one new episode.

This drama will run until mid-October, so roughly two months from now for 8 episodes which is a bit much. I mean, I get it and Apple wants to retain subscribers but I don’t vibe with the method that much.

The original novel which this was based on has been on my to-read list but I still haven’t found the time to get to it.

The performances by the cast members remain amazing as per usual, Min Ho is knocking it out of the park and shares a nice chemistry with Min Ha. And Min Ha showcases a stunning performance that will surely be the talk of town for the latter half of 2024.

Overall, while I am badly excited about next week’s episodes, I will not be watching but rather waiting for more episodes to accumulate so I can binge at once.

So, have you guys seen Pachinko season 2 1st episode? Thoughts?
