“No Way Out: The Roulette” Ending Explained

The story starts with a flashback to Joon Woo’s story of how a man who raped his mother was sentenced to about two years in jail and how lax the laws were to protect his mother.

He tries to take revenge against the man but is unsuccessful because he’s so young. Then, to make matters worse, one day, his mother kills herself and he sees her dead body in front of him as he cries.

At church, Joon Woo, who is cosplaying as a priest lectures the masses and even jokes about praying half heartedly. The former priest, who is also being tortured by him, is in a wheelchair and standing outside as he greets the people who came to the church. The old man tries to kill himself by dropping his wheelchair but he’s caught. He administrates some form of drug to incapacitate him and render him unable to do anything because he also rap-d his mother and he’s taking revenge for that. He had seen that after his mother was rap-d once, the pastor also took advantage of her and he had administrated drugs. Then he got so angry, he snapped and severely injured the pastor and he’d been in a wheelchair presumably since then.

Joon Woo then meets with Kim Guk-Ho’s son and asks why he wants to kill his father, he tells him he’s sick and tired of it and wants it to be over.

Joon Woo moves Kim Guk-Ho to a church location and sends his son too there. Baek Joong-Sik is tracing where they are and is close to find them. In the church, Joon Woo tells Dong Ha the drug he can administrate to his father will hurt him badly for at most 5 minutes, he’d die a painful death but it’ll be short.

Then, the location of Kim Guk-Ho is made public and people begin swarming to the place to kill him for the 20 billion won. Joon Woo is almost certain his son won’t be able to kill his father.

As they get into a confrontation, the son fails to administrate the drug and his father kicks his as*. Joon Woo overhears this and goes back inside and gets kicked by Kim Guk-Ho too. Kim Guk-Ho asks why he’s being targeted and that he paid his dues which Joon Woo laughs at. As they fight and kick each other, the son interferes and also begins to stab his father with a candle frame.

Joong-Sik finds his way inside and calms down Dong Ha and gets him to drop the candle. But people are already there, he uses his gun to scare them off and try to stop them from killing him and even shoots some of them. He then says he wishes he could kill him because of what he did to his daughter but can’t because he’s a police officer.

Kim Guk-Ho is cornered and thus resorts to pretending to want to administrate the same drug to his son, he tells him to study hard and care for his mother, he then pretends to almost hit his son when Joong-Sik opens fire on him killing him instantly.

The police look into Junu and find he has no registered fingerprints, his name and everything is faked and there is nothing in their database about him.

Joong-Sik’s daughter wakes up eventually and as he’s going home one day, he’s delivered a package, the 20 billion won prize he won for killing Kim Guk-Ho. In a sequence of dizzying and flashing lights, the masked man makes an appearance again and talks to viewers saying its him.

In the epilogue

Several months have passed and Joong-Sik is still searching for Junu. Meanwhile, Mr. Smile is hard at work also tracking him down, he kills a bunch of people as he finds out anther location where he broadcast his bets and such.

When Joong-Sik arrives to the same location, he sees everyone is dead. He then sees there is a message on a laptop for him, its Mr. Smile. He says a client wants Junu dead and thus, he’s now his target, he warns him to quit it and stop pursuing him because he’s now his or else he’ll hunt down and kill everyone he cares for.
