From Now On, Showtime!” has ended its run recently, here is a quick recap of its finale and its ending explained, was it a happy ending? Read to find out!

Why did Cha Cha-Woong break up with Go Seul-Hae?

At the beginning of “From Now On, Showtime!” episode 16, Cha Cha-Woong meets up with Go Seul-Hae to breakup with her, he did this because he wanted to protect her.

He was told that in order for the spirit to come upon him, his mind must be a blank slate. He needs to get rid of his worldly desires and greed. He goes to a cave with Choi Geom to meditate, they work together to catch the spirit.

Later, Cheon Ye-Ji tells Go Seul-Hae they didn’t seal that soul properly and that Cha Cha-Woong went to catch it. She goes to him and confronts him, she’s followed by Seo Hee-Soo who is possessed by the evil spirit. He catches her and as he’s about to kill her, he stops himself and decides to run away from her in order not to hurt her. He ends up running into the white truck of death and is hospitalized.

At the hospital, his father comes to see him and he gets possessed by the soul.

Did Na Geum-Ok pass away? Why?

After Seo Chang-Ho gets possessed by the evil spirit, he goes to see Na Geum-Ok who recognizes who he is immediately. She’s terrified and he ends up killing her.

Later, Cha Cha-Woong and Choi Geom go to see her and find out she’s been murdered. Cha Cha-Woong is arrested on the spot as he is seen holding the knife that killed her.

He gets escorted to the police car and escapes with the help of Choi Geom.

Cheon Ye-Ji is utterly devastated but is asked by Choi Geom to help with the rituals to seal the evil spirit’s soul. She agrees.

What happens to Seo Hee-Soo?

He wakes up with a foggy memory and is unable to recall what he was doing while he was possessed. Go Seul-Hae assures him he’s going to be alright and doesn’t tell him a thing.

Later, when his father is arrested, he’s put on a pause but will end up returning to police as he’s a very good police officer.

Were Nam Sang-Goon, Ma Dong-Chul and Kang A-Reum reincarnated?

After running away from police, Cha Cha-Woong is being chased by everyone. He ends up going to a village and runs into what appears to be the much older versions of Nam Sang-Goon, Ma Dong-Chul and Kang A-Reum who feed him and shelter him without asking any questions.

Later, when the entire ordeal is over, he goes back to return the favor to them and finds out that the place he’s been to had been vacant for a couple of years. They were simply a gift to him to get him through the night.

Was Cha Cha-Woong able to beat Hae Chun-Moo? How?

When next day comes, Seo Chang-Ho is furious Cha Cha-Woong wasn’t arrested, he grills the team and kicks Go Seul-Hae out because she’s dating him.

Go Seul-Hae finds out he’s possessed and as she’s about to tell Cha Cha-Woong via a phone call, it gets disconnected. Later, when she wakes up, she’s confronted by the evil spirit that says he will possess her body, take control of her memories and seize the seven star channel within her.

Cha Cha-Woong arrives at the scene and fights him, ultimately she gets possessed and he’s unable to kill the spirit. He offers himself to the spirit in exchange for keeping her safe. The evil spirit agrees and when he possesses him, Choi Geom arrives and puts the sword inside him to seal the spirit. He begins to bleed. He somehow transfers back in time and sees Princess Chun-Hwa who assures him its ok, she knows she’ll die but is happy in the future they’ll meet once again and get to be together. He luckily wakes up and isn’t dead.

Was Seo Chang-Ho arrested for his crimes?

Yes. After the ordeal is over, Seo Chang-Ho is arrested by police and all of his crimes get revealed.

What happens to Choi Geom?

He meets the great Jade Emperor after its over and they fight over what should happen to him, he doesn’t go to paradise. The great Jade Emperor ‘punishes’ him for impersonating the general spirit and sponging off the Cha family. He is sentenced to go back into earth and retribute for his deeds to the Cha family and with that he can enter nirvana. He gets reincarnated as Cha Cha-Woong and Go Seul-Hae’s child

Did Cha Cha-Woong and Go Seul-Hae get married?

Yes. They did get married and even had a child together named Cha Ma Ru.

They hold a birthday party for their son and notice that his friends look eerily similar to Nam Sang-Goon, Ma Dong-Chul and Kang A-Reum. Cha Cha-Woong gets the feeling that his son reminds him of Choi Geom.
