Yoon Park explains the reason behind him initially turning down the offer to star in JTBC’s “Forecasting Love and Weather.”
On April 15, Yoon Park sat down for an interview with Maeil Business where he mainly talked about his role in JTBC’s drama “Forecasting Love and weather,” he also talked about his first reaction when reading the script and why he, in the beginning, turned down the offer to star as Han Ki Joon.
Yoon Park plays as Han Ki Joon in the drama, Jin Ha Kyung’s (Park Min Young) ex-fiancé who cheated on her a month before the wedding. After his marriage to Chae Yoo Jin (played by Girl’s Day Yura), he starts chasing after Jin Ha Kyung.
Yoon Park talked about his reaction when reading the script and getting introduced to his character and how he didn’t seem to relate to him in any way, he said,
“When I read the script, I couldn’t really understand Han Ki Joon’s behavior and way of thinking, so it was really hard for me.”
He then revealed that he initially turned down the offer to play Han Ki Joon, but the director’s persuasion gave him the courage to play this character. The director told him that if he played Han Ki Joon, the character’s bad qualities will be offset by his positive attributes, he added,
“I thought if I really approached the character like the director told me to, I can show this new kind of charm of myself.”
When asked about the worst moment for Han Ki Joon, Yoon Park chose the one when Han Ki Joon chases Jin Ha Kyung to her house and starts crying in front of her, he said,
“When he went to Jin Ha Kyung’s house and started bawling, and how he talks to her after a misunderstanding, while Ki Joon was sincere in those actions, I think that the follow-up was really sloppy and bad.”
