Actors Yoo Yeon Seok, Moon Ga Young, Keum Sae Rok, Jung Ga Ram, and the director Cho Young Min of “The Interest Of Love” gathered together at the press conference to talk about their drama.
“The Interest Of Love” is a melodrama based on writer Lee Hyuk Jin’s novel of the same name, which depicts an in-house romance at KCU Bank. People with different perspectives meet each other and understand the meaning of true love.
Yoo Yeon Seok, who played the role of a doctor in the drama “Hospital Playlist,” plays Ha Sang Soo, a competent banker in “The Interest Of Love.” Prior to the first broadcast, he said at the press conference held online on this day,
I thought a lot about how to revive the sense of realism because of the professional nature of my character being a banker. I went to the bank and practiced how to count money and how to handle various instruments, referring to the bank employees’ work.
‘The Interest Of Love’ is a work that touches on reality. It is different from other melodramas as it deals with thinking, enduring, and conflict of various things.”
Moon Ga Young plays Ahn Soo Young, the fourth-year head of KCU Bank’s Yeongpo branch, who has excellent business skills but is blocked by an invisible wall. She said,
I showed bright side in my previous works, but this time, I showed the suffering patiently and condensed look. The fans who saw the teaser trailer described me as ‘Hard Moon Ga Young’, and I felt relieved. I tried to speak and express what I felt according to the plain love story.”
Moon Ga Young, the “Reading Queen” representative of the entertainment industry, said,
I enjoyed reading the original work. If you have read the original work, you will be able to see which part will end and how it will end. In addition, episodes in the bank and the family narratives are quite abundant.”
Yoo Yeon Seok also said,
I expressed the pictures and videos that readers could imagine through selection and concentration. There are many similarities in character relationships and settings, but I got a hint on the part where I can identify the character. The lines were imprinted in my head like the words of the novel.”
As it is a melodrama, the chemistry between male and female actors is more important than anything else. Yoo Yeon Seok praised his co-star, saying, “I gained strength whenever I filmed with the positive happy virus, Moon Ga Young. Above all, she expressed the subtle feelings of love well.” While Moon Ga Young shared, “I enjoyed acting while looking at Yoo Yeon Seok’s eyes. I relied a lot on Yoo Yeon Seok.”
PD Cho Young Min, who directed the SBS drama “Do You Like Brahms?” showing sensuous youth melodrama, explained the unique points of this drama, sharing,
“I had a lot of worries because the original work was a melodrama, but different from the original work, I thought it has a realistic and empathetic story. There are differentiating points from other melodramas, such as the eyes that follow each other in the narrow space of the bank, changing emotions, and the class structure in the bank.”
The drama will premiere on December 21.
