Yoo In Ah Breaks His Silence For The First Time Following His Drug Controversy, Says That He Self-Justified Drug Use As Personal Acts Of Deviation
Actor Yoo Ah In finally broke his silence and expressed his position on the charges of taking four drugs.
On March 27, Yoo Ah In attended the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s Drug Crime Investigation Unit in Mapo-gu, Seoul at 9 am. After about 12 hours of investigation on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act, he left the National Police Agency at around 9:20 p.m. and received some questions from the press.
Yoo Ah In had been tight-lipped throughout his drug scandal. For the first time in about 50 days since the controversy, he finally broke his silence.
When asked if he admitted to the charges, Yoo Ah In replied,
I’ve spoken about all the facts that I can reveal in the investigation as it originally is. I deeply reflect on the fact that I disappointed many people who have loved me for something unpleasant like this. I’m sorry. [he bowed]
When asked, “What questions were asked in the police investigation?” he declined to reveal much by explaining,
I received a lot of questions related to the details of the incident reported through the media. I conveyed my position as truly as I could. In fact, the investigation is not over yet, so I’m careful to tell you the details myself.”
In particular, Yoo Ah In drew attention by describing the drug administration charges as “personal acts of breakaway by me” and explained,
I think due to my self-justification that ‘it does not harm anyone,’ I fell into the wrong swamp.”
Yoo Ah In then apologized,
I’m sorry for the delay in expressing my position. I know you’re very uncomfortable seeing me, but I want to use these moments as an opportunity to live a truly healthier moment that I haven’t lived in the past. I’m so sorry for the disappointment.”
When asked what he mainly revealed in today’s investigation, he said, “I think I revealed everything that can be revealed. I’m sorry,” he said, and then he immediately boarded the prepared vehicle.
In the midst of this, Yoo Ah In, who is suspected of illegally administering drugs, has been temporarily restricted from appearing on KBS. While the police are investigating Yoo Ah In’s suspicion of drug use, the ‘temporary restriction on appearances’ may change depending on future results.
Yoo Ah In is charged with using four types of drugs. On the 17th of last month, the police received a result from the National Institute of Scientific Investigation that Yoo Ah In’s hair and urine tested positive for drugs such as marijuana, propofol, cocaine, and ketamine.
Meanwhile, Yoo Ah In has even finished filming with the main characters of the movies “Victory,” “High Five” and the drama “Goodbye Earth.” All three works, which were scheduled to be released this year, were decided to be temporarily postponed as Yoo Ah In was investigated by the police for drug use.
