JTBC’s “Nevertheless” has made the decision to edit out Kim Min Gwi following his controversy and it’s getting mixed responses.
Kim Min Gwi previously admitted to cheating on his girlfriend of six years, he followed that with an apology to his fans and his agency also issued an apology, however, reactions to his apology remained cold.
As a result of the backlash, the drama production team revealed their plans to edit out Kim Min Gwi from the drama. JTBC’s “Nevertheless” only has three episodes left, starting from episode 8, he will be edited out until he’s edited out completely and his screen time is minimized as much as possible.
This decision received mixed responses from fans as some think that this could negatively impact another actress who has nothing to do with his controversy.
The actress in question is Yang Hye Ji, the two actors that play an on-screen couple in the drama. As they were introduced into the drama, they gained popularity.
The more episodes aired, the more people got attached to the couple, they often clash because of their differing views on relationships and fans find them interesting to follow.
Fans are deeply disappointed after hearing that Kim Min Gwi’s scenes will likely be edited out because this means Yang Hye Ji will also be edited out since most of her scenes include Kim Min Gwi in them. [They appear most of the time together in the drama.]
Fans wonder if this was a good decision to make on the production team’s part. Some people think that the actor should not be edited out despite his controversy as it is his personal life, others think that despite the controversy which deserves backlash for, he still should not be edited out because editing him out will cause issues to Yang Hye Ji who had nothing to do with the issue.
There are some fans who think that the actress should get a new boyfriend in the drama, however, it is important to point out that this is highly unlikely to happen because the drama has wrapped up filming recently.

Honestly they shouldn’t edit him out. He made a mistake. Yeah it sucks, but why should it affect his career. What does him cheating have to do with his acting? I seriously don’t get it. I bet half the people judging him have done way worse. If you don’t like him then don’t watch the parts he’s in duh
Why would you edit someone out because they made a mistake in their personal life. Was it honorable? No. It’s not like he committed a crime. It also affects the other actors and actresses and makes the drama less interesting. I really was interested to see where their relationship would go. I don’t approve of what he did but should it affect his professional life. I don’t think so.
The show is about messy relationships anyway and he’s in a real-life one, why edit him out? How does it affect the drama? This is being watched by mature viewers who hopefully understand that life happens.
The SK entertainment industry should stop putting power in the hands of these disgruntled and spiteful people who come out just to destroy someone’s career.
I understand that it is hurtful that your boyfriend of 6 years would cheat on you, but must you take away his livelihood just to get back at him?
Drama that am managing to watch,it interesting and boring at the same time,buh Kim Min Gwi is one of the reasons am watching it…I think Koreans have grown pass this rubbish of mixing work with personal life……
