Actors Uhm Jung Hwa, Kim Byung Chul, Seo Myung Bin, and Min Woo Hyuk have been confirmes to lead upcoming JTBC medical comedy drama.
On March 7, JTBC’s new Saturday-Sunday drama “Doctor Cha Jung Sook” unveiled its casting lineup of actors Uhm Jung Hwa, Kim Byung Chul, Seo Myung Bin, and Min Woo Hyuk.
“Doctor Cha Jung Sook” depicts the torn life of Cha Jung Sook (Uhm Jung Hwa), who became a resident in her first year after being a housewife for 20 years. Following the fierce counterattack of ordinary housewife Cha Jung Sook, whose family was everything to her, the noisy scandals in her life, provides pleasant laughter and creates realistic empathy.
Expectations are high for the interesting combination of Uhm Jung Hwa, Kim Byung Chul, Seo Myung Bin, and Min Woo Hyuk.
Uhm Jung Hwa will plays the role of Cha Jung Sook who wears the doctor’s gown again in 20 years, leaving her long stay-at-home mom life behind, giving life to another character. Having survived an unexpected crisis, she faces a major turning point in her life, deciding to re-challenge the major course she gave up for her family. Fans are looking forward to Uhm Jung Hwa’s passionate performance, which will portray the dynamic change of Cha Jung Sook, who is trying to reboot her life at the edge of the cliff, more than ever. Uhm Jung Hwa said, “I’m happy to meet a drama with warm comfort and growth. Kim Byung Chul plays Cha Jung Sook’s strict and sensitive husband and Seo In Ho, head of surgery at a thorough university hospital. A perfectionist who never loses his dignity and composure 365 days a year, but has a brazen secret that will astonish everyone. At that time, the gratitude for his wife, who gave up her doctor’s career and endured a hard marriage, was blurred. He faces a lifetime crisis after his wife, who has changed 180 degrees after liver transplant surgery and restarts her career as a resident. Kim Byung Chul, who returns as a character who cannot be hated, naturally unravels the dangerous double life of Seo In Ho, an extreme moral gentleman. Seo Myung Bin plays the role of Seo In Ho’s first love and family medicine professor Choi Seung Hee. She is the daughter of a medical tycoon who owns 12 general hospitals nationwide and has never experienced the hardships of the world. However, after losing her first love to Cha Jung Sook, she wants a normal life like everyone else. Choi Seung Hee’s life is twisted as she encounters resident Cha Jung Sook again as a professor of family medicine. Seo Myung Bin, who has shown a new face in each work, will make another acting transformation. She said, “I had expectations and was nervous if I could show a different appearance from the previous works in the character of Choi Seung Hee. I researched and pondered a lot. Min Woo Hyuk, who returned to the drama land after three years, plays the role of Roy Kim, a surgeon who prefers open relationships. Equipped with his sweet and sexy charm, he is a magical man who anyone can fall in love with. Roy Kim, who is loved by everyone but did not give sincerity to anyone, begins to get deeply entangled with Cha Jung Sook, who is strangely concerned.
