MBC’s Drama “Tomorrow” has responded to the backlash after fans brought up a scene from one of its recent episodes.

The drama was recently under fire after screenshots of one of its episodes went viral and its related to BTS. Recently, fans began posting a screenshot from the MBC drama “Tomorrow.” The screenshot shows BTS’s members real names and birth dates [with the exception for the year] being written on a list of a registry of ‘entering dead.’ The list says they died by homicide.

One of the entries is written as Kim Tae Hyung “1971.12.30,” BTS’s V real name is Kim Taehyung and he was born on the 30th of December but in the year 1995. there was another name on the list called Kim Yoo Rim with the birth date registered as 1997.09.01 which is BTS’s Jungkook’s birth date.

On May 17, the drama responded to the allegations claiming, “the birth and dates on the list are simply a combination of numbers, there is no other intentions behind them.”

There are many different takes on the matter. Some believe a portion of fans are overreacting, others believe the backlash is warranted especially considering the fact that its been alleged that MBC and HYBE had a fallout and since then, their relationship has never truly recovered because almost no HYBE artists appear on any of their shows, and when they do its very rare. This includes appearances by all HYBE artists subsidiaries and is not limited to just artists managed under HYBE directly.

Do you think fans are overreacting or not?

  1. As writers they should make sure that this type of thing doesn’t happen as it can not be seen as a coincidence. A good writer would check with a celebrity/ famous person that it would be ok to use that I formation especially the use of V’s real name. He’s too well known for someone from Korea to say they didn’t know who he was.
