The drama “The Midnight Romance In Hagwon” has apologizes for the drunk driving scene.

On the 21st of May, the production team of tvN’s weekend drama “The Midnight Romance In Hagwon” apologized for the issue surrounding the drunk driving scene. They stated to HeraldPOP, “After recognizing the problem right after the broadcast, we have reflected the version with the scene removed on VOD services and in the re-broadcast.”

They continued, “We sincerely apologize for the discomfort caused to viewers due to our lack of consideration. We will pay more attention in producing high-quality content.”

On the episode of “The Midnight Romance In Hagwon” that aired on the 19th, Seo Hye-jin (played by Jung Ryeo Won) drank alcohol with Nam Cheong-mi (played by So Ju Yeon) and returned to the hagwon (private education institute) to prepare for a lecture with Lee Joon-ho (played by Lee Ha Joon). Seo Hye-jin then personally drove Lee Joon-ho home. This incident, which occurred within a few hours in the storyline, sparked controversy over drunk driving.

The production team of “The Midnight Romance In Hagwon” seemed to have recognized the issue with the scene, as the scene of Seo Hye-jin’s drunk driving disappeared from the VOD replay and clip scenes, leading to criticism for removing it without any explanation or apology.
