Lee Je Hoon, Pyo Ye Jin, and more talk about the return of SBS’s highly anticipated drama “Taxi Driver” with season 2 and share behind-the-scene stories and expectations for new season at the press conference.

Recently,, a press conference for “Taxi Driver 2” was held at SBS in Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. PD Ethan Lee Je Hoon, Kim Eui Sung, Pyo Ye Jin, Jang Hyuk Jin, Bae Yu Ram, and Shin Jae Ha attended the meeting to talk about the drama.

SBS’ new Friday-Saturday drama “Taxi Driver 2” is a private revenge act in which Rainbow Transportation, a taxi company, and Kim Do Ki, a taxi driver, complete revenge on behalf of an unfair victim. Based on the webtoon of the same name, the “Taxi Driver” series has stood tall at the box office, ranking fourth in the ratings of Friday and Saturday dramas in SBS history. In season 2, screenwriter Oh Sang Ho of Taxi Driver” Season 1 was in charge of writing, and new director Lee Ethan joined as the director.

Lee Je Hoon once again plays the role of Kim Do Ki, a rainbow transportation taxi driver. Lee Je Hoon said,

I felt burdened by the appearance of totally new secondary characters in season 2 which were not part of season 1, but I worked with the mindset of ‘Let’s have fun.’

I think our team’s teamwork and ensemble came out even better. In season 2, there is a directing style created by the director’s delicate and close preparation. He directed it so well that it felt like it was much more fun than season 1. I’m looking forward to it from the perspective of a viewer.”

From the first episode, Lee Je Hoon will draw the attention of viewers with a scene exposing his upper body by taking off his shirt and the location of Vietnam. In response, he shared with a smile,

Thanks to your passionate love, I was able to film the first and second episodes in Vietnam while preparing for season 2. It was amazing.
The drama catches the appearance of our home country’s villains working abroad, and at the request of a victim, the Rainbow Transportation team leaves for abroad. I was surprised that we could show these scenes on such a colorful, cool, and large scale.

I hope you can enjoy exotic colors spectacularly. It wasn’t easy to film in Vietnam since it was hot and humid, but everyone did their best to film the drama. The script for the first part of season 2 has a scene where the appearance of Do Ki working out in prison comes out. I worked out really hard after hearing the director’s direction method.

I worked hard thinking that this will be the last time I take off my shirt. It’s (muscles) gone now. I did my best to film this scene. Now I’m just grateful that it was filmed greatly.”

Kim Eui Sung, the representative of Rainbow Transportation who plays Jang Sung Chul, the head of the crime victim center Bluebird foundation, Pyo Ye Jin, who plays the role of Ahn Ko Eun, an employee of Rainbow Transport, Jang Hyuk Jin, and Bae Yoo Ram, the role of Rainbow  Transportation engineer duo, are also returning in season 2.

Pyo Ye Jin said,

The response was so good that I wanted to work in season 2. When we started filming together again, I felt so familiar and comfortable.”

This season, On Ha Joon, a new general taxi driver who newly got a job at Rainbow Transportation will appear. On Ha Joon, played by actor Shin Jae Ha, accidentally finds a secret passage into the underground maintenance room and finds out the real appearance of Rainbow Transportation.

Shin Jae Ha said,

It will be a lie to say that there was no pressure. I enjoyed watching ‘Taxi Driver 1’ several times when I was in the military. I had high expectations when I joined the cast in season 2. I felt pressured, but as soon as I went to the filming scene, the pressure completely disappeared. The production crew and actors treated me as if I was originally part of this team.”

Regarding Shin Jae Ha, the director said,

I wanted a new character. I was curious about Kim Do Ki chemistry with a new employee. I cast Shin Jae Ha because I needed a fresh face and a face that can lift one’s mood just by looking at it and Shin Jae Ha has that face.”

While Kim Eui Sung hinted something about Shin Jae Ha, adding, “There is a huge secret hidden beyond our comparison.”

The production crew and actors are expecting higher ratings than last season. Director Lee Dan said,

If we dealt with bullying and voice phishing in season 1, this time we brought topics closer to real life, such as fraud with elders and real estate. We adjusted the content rating level to 15-year-old so over 15-year-old viewers can also watch the drama because we wanted more viewers to watch ‘Taxi Driver 2’.”

Lee Je Hoon also said,

I hope the ratings are a little higher than season 1. I hope viewers watch it every week and look forward to episodes for next week. I hope you’ll be happy during the broadcast.”

Meanwhile, “Taxi Driver 2” premiered on February 17.

Will you be tuning in for second season of “Taxi Driver”?
