Song Joong Ki Explains Why He Chose “Reborn Rich” As His Next Drama And Why He Doesn’t Think He’s Playing A Double Role
Song Joong Ki talks about his new drama “Reborn Rich,” why he doesn’t think he’s playing double roles and more at its press conference!
The press conference of JTBC’s new Friday-Saturday-Sunday drama “Reborn Rich” was held at the Grand Ballroom on the first basement floor of Fairmont Ambassador in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul where actors Song Joong Ki, Lee Sung Min, Shin Hyun Bin and director of the drama gathered to talk about the drama.
In the drama, Song Joong Ki plays double characters in the drama and goes back and forth between Yoon Hyun Woo, a loyal secretary of the chaebol family, and Jin Do Jun, the youngest son of the chaebol family, to make up for a thrilling transformation. Yoon Hyun Woo was an all-around solver of the Sunyang family. He was falsely accused and abandoned, he then returns as the Sunyang family’s youngest son, Jin Do Jun, and he wages a war against them.
Earlier, the production team promoted that Song Joong Ki would play double roles. However, Song Joong Ki himself drew the line that he was not playing double roles, explaining,
“I thought it was two different names given to one person rather than acting as two different people. I already played a double role in ‘Arthdal Chronicles,’ so it was burdensome to express the two characters because I already know it is difficult.”
Nevertheless, the biggest reason why Song Joong Ki picked “Reborn Rich” was his faith in writer Kim Tae Hee. Song Joong Ki said,
“I worked with the writer on ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’ before. I had a lot of trust in the writer, and the narrative of this script was solid, so I wanted to choose it even more. What got better after that was that Lee Sung Min joined the cast. After hearing this, I became more confident
