Actress Song Ji Hyo has notified her agency of her intention to terminate her exclusive contract and the agency has since confirmed she’s left.
On the 24th, a representative from Song Ji Hyo’s side stated to MyDaily, “It is true that Song Ji Hyo notified Uzurocks of her intention to terminate her exclusive contract on the 14th. The mutual trust between the two sides has been broken, leading to this decision.” According to Song Ji Hyo’s side, they are preparing to file lawsuits against Uzurocks for unpaid settlement fees and to confirm the lack of effectiveness of the exclusive contract.
Last October, Song Ji Hyo signed an exclusive contract with Uzurocks and became close with fellow “Running Man” member Ji Suk Jin. Uzurocks is home to stars such as Ji Suk Jin, Lee Hyun Woo, and more.
Previously, on the 5th of April, Uzurocks was engulfed in allegations of non-payment of salaries to artists and employees due to financial difficulties. In response to reports that the artists’ appearance fees were not being properly settled, Uzurocks said, “There was a news article that salaries and other payments were overdue for our employees, but payments for salaries and 4 major insurances have already been completed for those who have left the company. Salaries for employees who are still working will be paid on the originally scheduled date of April 10th. Quarterly settlements for our artists will also proceed as planned without any delays.”
In response to the reports regarding Song Ji Hyo, the agency admitted to mistakes and said the actress has left the agency. They wrote,
Due to the rapid expansion of the entertainment division in the early stages of the company, we did not pay enough attention to the detailed and important parts that we needed to provide to our actors.
We admit our mistake due to the rapid expansion of our various business areas based on content. We would also like to apologize to many people who have supported and helped our existing business.
Although we couldn’t be together for a long time, we have been together based on trust. We are grateful for Song Ji Hyo’s dedication, and it was an honor to work with Song Ji Hyo, who has been loved in various fields.
