Netflix has unveiled the first look at its highly anticipated series “A Killer’s Paradox” confirming its premiere date!
The Netflix series “A Killer’s Paradox” will be released on February 9th, meeting viewers worldwide through Netflix. The series tells the story of an ordinary man who accidentally starts committing murders and the detective who relentlessly pursues him.
Based on the webtoon of the same name by the sensational webtoon artist Kkoma-bi, the webtoon gained attention when it was first serialized with its provocative storytelling. It received numerous awards, including the Korea Content Awards for Best New Webtoon, Today’s Our Manhwa Award, and the Readers’ Manhwa Award. As a legendary webtoon with a strong fan base, the news of its adaptation into a Netflix series has generated explosive interest even before production began.
Expectations are high for the production team that will upgrade the charm of the original work, which features a realistic and psychological narrative. Director Lee Chang-hee, who showcased exceptional sensibility in genre works such as the drama “Strangers from Hell” and the film “The Night of the Undead,” and writer Kim Da-min, who won the Grand Prize in the feature film category at the 2019 Gyeonggi Scenario Development Awards, will create a unique K-thriller with meticulous and distinctive perspectives. Lee Chang-hee, who realizes that the person he has killed is a vicious criminal after an accidental murder, shows a bewildered expression in the face of the extraordinary reality that unfolds before him.
Detective Jangnan-gam’s extraordinary aura also arouses curiosity. With a sharp gaze that seems to be activated by a “hunch” in the increasingly bizarre murder cases, Jangnan-gam’s contrasting image with a large bubble gum suggests his unusual side. The caption “Someone died, someone killed” raises curiosity about the story of Lee Tang, who becomes a “murderer” overnight, and the detective who pursues him.
The teaser trailer, released together, starts with a slap that suddenly awakens Lee Tang from his lethargic and mundane daily life. After finishing his part-time job at a convenience store and heading home as usual, Lee Tang is subjected to a random assault by a man. Lee Tang who has never tried to fight back in his life, suddenly gains the courage to grab a hammer and strike with all his might.
