SBS’s “The First Responders” ratings have skyrocketed to their highest yet!

“The First Responders” on SBS achieved its highest ratings ever on December 23rd, according to Nielsen Korea. The action thriller, featuring Kim Rae Won, Son Ho Jun, and Gong Seung Yeon, reached an average nationwide rating of 9.7%, a 2% increase from the previous episode and a new personal best for the series.

The increase in ratings may be due in part to the fact that the highly popular JTBC drama “Reborn Rich,” which airs in the same time slot and is currently the second most-watched cable drama in South Korean history, did not air a new episode that night.

The Forbidden Marriage” on MBC, which also airs in the same time slot as “The First Responders,” also saw a significant rise in its ratings, reaching an average nationwide rating of 4.0% for its fifth episode.

“Reborn Rich” will air its final two episodes on December 24th and 25th at 10:30 PM KST.

SBS’s “The First Responders” airs its finale today!

  1. I’m pretty sure, ep 10 was a cliffhanger, such a awesome cliffhanger–that people wanted to know what’s next, although I know people like “Reborn Rich” basically because of the famous actor—that drama doesn’t compare to how great of a production “The First Responders” is: Great pacing, well thought-out story for each episode based solely on realistic possibilities, awesome acting, Oh God the music! Phenomenal music, trap beats, rapping, sad endings–you got everything!
High-Octane action filled-thriller”–that’s what i would call it.

So, though what you claim might have played a part, “The First Responders” by itself was one of the best in the end of 2022, with a great cliffhanger given in ep 10; and people would also have watched for that–put that into account as well.
