“The Princess and the Matchmaker” Tops Korean Box Office In Tickets Sale

The first Korean movie starring Lee Seung Gi following his military discharge is doing very well in the box office.

According to Korean Films Commission, “The Princess and the Matchmaker” attracted 175,000 people in ticket sale across 853 theatres nationwide.

It went up against “Little Forest” and “Gate,” “Little Forest” attracted 131,365 people coming in second place while “Gate” came in 9th place with 13,710.





“The Princess and the Matchmaker” formally known as “Material Harmony” is led by Shim Eun kyung, Lee Seung Gi, Kim Sang kyung, Yeon Woo Jin, and Kang Min Hyuk, it tells the story of Seo Do Yoon (Lee Seung Gi), the best material harmony signs reader across Joseon. He is requested to read the marital harmony signs between Princess Songhwa (Shim Eun kyung) and the 4 men on her husband list.

The filming of the movie began in September 9, and was only released after its main lead, Lee Seung Gi was discharged from military.
