On September 8, Wavve announced that “Weak Hero” has been officially invited to the ‘On Screen’ section, which will screen a series of popular dramas scheduled to be aired on the online video streaming platform (OTT) at the 27th Busan International Film Festival from October 5 to October 14. The on-screen section was newly established for the first time in Asia last year, and the OTT drama series is presented as a World Premiere or Asian Premiere. In this on-screen section, ‘Weak Hero’ will reveal some episodes from one to three out of a total eight episodes.
The original Wavve drama “Weak Hero” is a strong action-growth drama of a weak boy. The story revolves around depicting the process of confronting numerous violence with Suho and Beom Seok, who became friends for the first time with the top 1% model student Yeon Si Eun. Director Yoo Soo Min, who won the Best Picture Award at the Miseon Short Film Festival, wrote and directed the play, and won the Best Picture Award at the Baeksang Arts Awards and the Blue Dragon Awards. PD Han Joon Hee has participated as a creative director. The harmony of talented directors leads to the birth of another well-made work and is considered one of the most anticipated works in the second half of this year.
In addition, the news of the appearance of Park Ji Hoon, Choi Hyun Wook, and Hong Kyung, the three popular actors who have proven their skills with various works, became a hot topic. In particular, attention was focused on Park Ji Hoon’s acting transformation. The action and growth story of “Yeon Si Eun,” which will be presented by Park Ji Hoon, who has expanded himself as a trusted actor by perfectly giving life to various personality characters, is the biggest point to watch. On top of that, the appearance of popular rising stars such as Choi Hyun Wook, Hong Kyung, Lee Yeon, and Shin Seung Ho with solid acting skills and stardom also raises expectations for the drama “Weak Hero.”
“Weak Hero” is an action development drama about outsider Yeon Si Eun, who was not interested in studying, fighting against violence in his own way to survive in a jungle-like school.
Wavve said. “It is meaningful in that it is a growth drama that meets Suho and Beom Seok and confronts various worries and unfair violence that anyone has experienced at least once. The Busan International Film Festival has provided a place to show the work and sympathize with more audiences. Please look forward to it.“
Meanwhile, “Weak Hero” will be exclusively released as an original wave drama in November.
