JTBC’s upcoming drama has confirmed the casting of actors Park Hyung Sik, Park Shin Hye, Yoon Park and Gong Sung Ha.
JTBC’s new drama “Dr. Slump” is a romantic comedy about the revival of the ruined life of Yeo Jung Woo (Park Hyung Sik) and Nam Ha Neul (Park Shin Hye) who have only seen their life going upward. The process of the two having hate relationship rivals reuniting in the darkest period of their lives after becoming each other’s light produces laughter, excitement, and warm comfort. The anticipation to see how the happiness of those who shared the most brilliant and low times will be portrayed is high.
Above all, the meeting between Park Hyung Sik, Park Shin Hye, Yoon Park, and Gong Sung Ha makes drama fans excited on its own. In particular, the chemistry of Park Hyung Sik and Park Shin Hye, who reunited 10 years after “The Heirs,” is expected to be the best viewing point. On top of that, director Oh Hyun Jong, who showed sensuous and delicate directing skills in “Find Me In Your Memory” and “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim” and writer Baek Sun Woo, who boasted witty writing skills, will work together to stimulate expectations.
Park Hyung Sik plays the role of Yeo Jung Woo, the star plastic surgeon who falls into the worst slump of his life. After his school days as the top student in the school, he went through the best medical school in Korea and became a star doctor through both skills and personality, but he was pushed to the brink for a moment due to a mysterious medical accident. Expectations are high for Park Hyung Sik’s romantic comedy, which has been transformed without limits.
He said, “It’s been a long time since I’ve done a romantic comedy, so I’m both nervous and excited. I’m glad and looking forward to meeting and working with actor Park Shin Hye again after a long time. I think it will be a more interesting work because the work is made by the director and writer who are trusted by viewers to watch the work. I’m happy because I think I can provide laughter and emotion to the viewers. I sincerely ask for your interest, love, and support.”
Park Shin Hye will return to dreamland in the role of Nam Ha Neul, an anesthesiologist with burnout syndrome. Nam Ha Neul, who was called a genius from birth, lived by studying with a clear brain and great effort to no limit and became an adult who lived her life being crazy about work even when she became a doctor. One day, when she was living her boring life where she could not do anything but study and work, she suddenly looks back on her broken life and resolves to change it.
Park Shin Hye said, “Everyone seems to be facing a slump in their lives. I sympathized with the character Nam Ha Neul because I tend to think a lot about how to overcome the moment wisely and live a healthy life. I think I felt more attached to the situations she faced. I will work hard to film so that I can comfort many people who are tired of life.” Anticipations are high for Park Shin Hye’s passionate performance, who will draw a special romance blooming in a slump, more than ever.
Yoon Park will take on the role of Bin Dae Young, a plastic surgeon who also shows off a lot. He has one side rivalry with Yeo Jung Woo, a popular college colleague, but understands him more than anyone else. He is full of bravado and has strong self-esteem, but he can never be hated for it. It is expected that Yoon Park will make a different transformation that will add to the fun of the drama by going back and forth between seriousness and deftness.
Yoon Park expressed his sincere feelings by saying, “I’m very excited to meet the good director and actors through the work. I will prepare well to make a fun drama. I hope it ends well without any major accidents until the end of the show.”
The joining of Gong Sung Ha, who has been noted as the reader of evil minds, also adds to expectations. Gong Seong Ha plays the role of Nam Ha Neul’s best friend and obstetric anesthesiologist Lee Hong Ran. He and Nam Ha Neul have been together from their college days to their major days, and they are strangely intertwined with Bin Dae Young (Yoon Park), who has many other similarities.
Gong Seong Ha said, “I am grateful and feel responsible for entrusting Lee Hong Ran with me. I want to put all my heart into making good work with precious relationships with the bright energy of this character. Please look forward to Gong Sung Ha’s ‘Lee Hong Ran.’”
