“Pachinko” Actor Jin Ha is under fire after his personal blog content was exposed, k-netizens are both disgusted by what he wrote.
Recently, photos of “Pachinko” Actor Jin Ha’s microblog on tumblr were revealed, the blog, which up until recently wasn’t even deleted, showcased photos of elderly Korean women while making provocative remarks about them, some of which had sexual connotations.
The photos in question were taken of the elderly women while they were on the subway or on buses. He called the microblog on tumblr ‘flowers in bloom,’ a photo series to show ‘Korea’s glamorous fashion trends.’ The photos were posted without blurring their faces and appeared to be taken without consent or permission. In one of the photos, he captioned, ‘now we have an excuse to stare directly at her right nipple.’
The first post was published on July 14, 2010, and the last post was made on Sept. 6, 2011. Up until the controversy broke, the blog was actually still up.
The controversy grew even more considering the fact that he’s currently starring in Apple TV+ drama “Pachinko.” The drama tells the story of the elderly women’s generation that had to endure turbulent times.
Jin Ha plays the role of Solomon, the grandson of Sun-ja, played by Youn Yuh Jung.
Following the controversy, Jin Ha uploaded an apology in both Korean and English addressing the situation. He admits to ‘trespassing’ the privacy of the women involved and says he deeply regrets his actions.

Despite his apology, many k-netizens believe this isn’t a matter that can be solved with a mere apology. Some are even asking him to be investigated for taking those photos without their consent.
Truly disgusted by this. To make fun of the elderly you have to be really shameless and perverted. It is not just trespassing the privacy. His parents did not raise him well it seems. He will eventually get old himself and lets see how he will look like. I agree with those who said the apology is not enough. Apple TV should also stop working with him if they care about their reputation.
